Father's Day was Sunday and I got to spend an amazing weekend with my Dad. We got to do some cool things together.
I realize that some people do not have the best of Dads or do not even have a Dad in their life while others have #1 Dad of the Universe. (My dad is not perfect, he has his areas that need work on and so do I). If you are one of those who has the #1 Dad I just want to say "I hope you had a great father's day and that you value your dad." But if you are those who do not have the best of Dads (like one who beats you and so on) or not at all, I want you to know that you have a heavenly Father who cares for you. (and not just for those who don't have dads or kind of good dads but God is a Father to everyone.) Psalms 68:5 - A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, [is] God in his holy habitation. Isaiah 64:8 - But now, O LORD, thou [art] our father; we [are] the clay, and thou our potter; and we all [are] the work of thy hand. Matthew 7:7-11, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!" These verses show us that God is our Father and He will provide for us because we are His children (Those who have been redeemed by His blood). I'm sure it is hard not having a Dad around and I know that those who have Dads, they are not perfect either. They will fail no matter how many #1 Dad awards they get because they are human with a sinful fallen nature (But if they have God then they can let Him work in them to change that nature). Yes, they can change and many do but they will still disappoint us. But we can still love them and pray for them and thank God for them. However, God our heavenly Father will never disappoint us. He will never forsake us (Deu. 31:6). He has great plans for us (Jer. 29:11). He loves us so much (Jer. 31:3, John 3:16). and He will take care of us (Mat. 6:25-34). We need to learn to not put our hope in a man. We need to not make an idol out of our fathers. We need to know that human man will let us down. We need to put our hope in God, trust in Him because we can totally depend on Him. God will not let you down!!
